Business as Usual - Men at Work

1984-85.

I found this wonderful band from Australia thanks to their number 'Down Under' which I heard somewhere - perhaps the Grammy awards list. It was such a refreshingly different and happy sound, crazy lyrics and full of fun and mischief. So I had no hesitation at all when I found this record at Sangeet Sagar and asked my friend there to record it for me.

When I went home to listen to the tape I realised I had struck a gold mine. Songs like 'Who can it be now?', 'I can see it in your eyes', 'Underground', 'Be good Johnny' and 'Down by the sea' stood out in a very very listenable album. Cannot forget 'Down Under' and 'Who can it be now?' ever though.

Absolute delight. Must watch and listen.

Ah, so many nights spent listening to this album. A fuzzy head, completely unclear about the future, he present, going from day to day and somehow surviving. Not having the clarity to do anything productive- just wasting time and having a good time. These guys were good company!

Ah lovely. Thanks 'Men at Work!' Reminds me of the only Aussie I know - Koni the great. But the music was my discovery and all the listening pleasure too. I realise the lyrics are pretty smart too - a tone of the political too.

Check out, Be good Johnny!
