Paul Anka - Greatest Hits

The HPS crowd, Madhav, Ranjan and Vardha were the ones who introduced us to Paul Anka, the Canadian American singer. They would go into raptures at the very mention of Paul Anka - obviously because some memory seemed to be triggered by it. The venue would normally be Vardha and Madhav's house on the sprawling ESI grounds. We would all gang up in Vardha's room which was normally a mess, a haze of cigarette smoke, and at times had a small tape recorder play some tapes.
Paul Anka's numbers were soulful and romantic and I got his greatest hits taped. 'Bring the wine', 'Having my baby' and 'One man woman' are still fresh on my mind. My personal favourite was 'Bring more wine'.
