Phil Collins - Live
1986-87.
Phil Collins swept us off our feet with his racy 'Sussudio' in one of the Grammy's. Or was it that slow ballad.' Against all odds - Take a look at me now'. Both all-time favourites. I also remember a number about rain 'I wish it would rain down'. And I loved 'In too deep.'

I somehow associate Prasanna, our junior from the engineering college who had a good collection of cassettes with him. I certainly remember listening to 'Part Time Lover' on his tape but it probably also had Sussudio as well.

Then I got myself this Phil Collins tape - Live. It had numbers like 'Land of Confusion', 'That's all' and 'In too deep'. All gloriously listenable.

Phil Collins was peppy. But his ballads were gut-wrenching. Of course, we'd feel great emotions for the girls in our life who weren't there and Phil was guilty of abetting us in that crime. 'Against all odds' will always get into all my greatest ballads collections. So will 'In too deep'.

Will dedicate this to Prasanna, with whom I shared some good music, a few laughs, an article in the college magazine.

And to all the girls I never expressed my love to.
Thanks Phil for the lovely times.
