Kenny Rogers - Greatest Hits

My favorite memories of Kenny Rogers are split between the HPS gang - Madhva, Vardha, Ranjan, Kiri - who would play 'The Gambler' in Vardha's room where we would congregate often. Another favourite memory of Kenny Rogers was listening to it with Shobhs on her cassettes. My first memory of Kenny Rogers, however, has to be the duet he sang with Dolly Parton 'Islands in the stream.'

In fact the cassette I now have is a gift I gifted Shobhs in 1992 on her birthday. I  was in Pune then, working with ITW Signode as a Sales Officer, and Shobha and me spent a lot of time exploring Pune, listening to music and doing fun stuff.

In recent years I discovered 'Lady' and felt that it was the most romantic song I ever heard. So for the lovely memories and the everlasting philosophy of the 'Gambler', here are my favourites.

I guess I have to dedicate it to Shobhs for all the good times when we listened to this tape.
